8 Feng Shui Favorite House Plants
Feng Shui is all about enhancing the quality of life. How often do you consider the importance of your house plants?
Oh my gosh, how I do adore my houseplants and from a Feng Shui perspective they are simply the most natural, beautiful way to raise the vibration of your home and cultivate your personal Chi. I have many clients who state they don’t have a green thumb nor the time to commit to “what they believe” is necessary to dedicate to their care. I assure my clients that I have heard them while kindly directing them to the hidden message in their language. If you don’t have time to nurture a plant that needs watering once a week you may need to re-evaluate your schedule to take time out for you. Watering your plants can be worked into your personal cultivation time as a walking meditation. Fifteen minutes a week is really all they need and of course the proper lighting conditions are necessary for optimum growth as well.
Living breathing plants bring life to a space, raise the energy of abandon and still corners, add O2 to the air, filter the air of environmental toxins and absorb many of the EMF’s bombarding our spaces such as our beloved wifi’s. Always willing to share

Peace Lillie One of my most favorite houseplants is the Peace Lily, it is easy to care-for, can be purchased in various sizes from small pots to more mature floor plants. It will thrive in a pot of rich moist soil or without any soil covering the root system and placed in a vase of water with gold fish. The blooms are graceful and will thrive in indirect sun. In addition to homes this is an excellent plant for offices, beauty salons, hospitals as it purifies the air of chemicals such as alcohol, acetone, trichlorothylene, benzene and formaldehyde.
The Ficus is a very popular houseplant which is easy to grow in full and filtered sunlight. It is an excellent plant for removing airborne chemical vapors.
I have 2 Golden Pothos (Devils Ivy) in my office to help reduce the amount of emfs from the electronics in the space. This houseplant is one of my most favorites, it is prolific in growth and thrives in any light condition. Placed on the top of a bookshelf or desk corner the long trailing stems are wonderful for softening Sha Chi or sharp corners. It is also a fabulous plant for improving the quality of air in a space.
The Boston Fern is a graceful addition to any home. It is ranked by NASA as one of the highest rated houseplants for purifying the air while also providing a humidifying affect to the environment.
Gerber Daisy There’s nothing more cheerful than the big bright faces of the Gerber Daisy to make my day. You can plant them in outdoor pots during the summer and in the fall bring them and place them on a windowsill so your days will continue to be filled with sunshine. Not only are they beautiful but according to NASA’s research they are fantastic at filtering the air from harmful chemicals.
The Umbrella Tree can be found in most home and garden centers. The size may vary from tall floor trees which are fantastic for enhancing your Family and Health gua or raising the chi in a stagnant corner, to small tabletop bonsai “Money Trees” that are excellent for enhancing your Wealth and Prosperity gua. Not only is it beautiful and easy to care for, the Umbrella Tree is excellent for absorbing many air born chemicals while increasing the quality of air in your home.
So enhance the quality of your life by adding a little green to your space. Just 15 minutes a week will make a big difference in how you feel at the end of the day.
