Understanding the Narrative of Your Artwork
When is the last time you truly took the time to really view the art on your walls?
Have you every contemplated what the imagery is saying to you?
Does it take you on a journey to the time you purchased it, represent a passion yet unfulfilled?
From a Feng Shui perspective your artwork should represent who you are, your dreams, desires, your personal journeys of places you’ve been, or yet desire to see. Look around the room you’re in now, what do you see? How does it make you feel? It’s a curious think when we tap into the emotions of a picture, are you drawn into the image, or do you feel as though you are being pushed back? Contemplate how your facial expressions change, are you smiling, do your eyes light-up, do you find yourself frowning? Does your pulse quicken, your breath slow? Does your mind wonder, take you on an adventure?
Next time you’re in the market for a piece of artwork to adorn your walls try and make a celebration out of the experience, don’t just pick something that matches the red in your cushions, pick something that makes you smile not only because the price is right but because it represents your Personal Feng Shui Journey.
Better yet, grab your camera make a date and take some fabulous photos, macro or micro shots, have them printed and framed, or stretched on canvas. Pick yourself up an artist canvas, some paints, brushes, a bottle of your favorite wine a couple of candles, some strawberries and chocolate a drop-cloth and have some fun. Let your creativity flow, don’t judge the process, people pay big bucks for some art that is abstract in motion. Feel what it is you desire and let yourself flow; there is nothing more emoting than a masterpiece you created in the spirit of a moment.
