As toddlers we’re taught to only put the square/rectangle in the square/rectangle hole so why wouldn’t it be common sense to put a square/rectangle table in a square /rectangle room? To do anything else seems out of the ordinary. Yes, it does, but that’s the beauty of breaking the “rules” and creating a design style that’s rich in Feng Shui philosophy.

Even attend an auction and keep your eyes open for an antique or vintage round dining room table where the pedestal could be cut down to coffee table height of 16 – 18″ or higher depending on the height of your sofa. Ideally, the height of the coffee table should match the height of the sofa seat.

1. In most spaces, round coffee tables are much more space planning friendly than the popular alternatives.
2. The lack of sharp corners makes them safer for children to play and navigate around while reducing the risk of bumps and bruises. The same goes for your shins.
Keep in Mind
When sourcing round tables keep in mind the diameter. You want to choose one that will fit perfectly in the space while allowing 12″ – 1.5′ between the table edge and the seating furniture.
